Captivate my heart, dear Jesus
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Confidence is not a feeling. Confidence is a decision to step boldly into whatever you feel God has for you, by faith, behave yourself confidently. There's nothing worse than living a life unfulfilled and not doing what you are supposed to do."
"Take an inventory of what you DO have and not on what you don't have. Offer what you do have to God to use. Let the past be the past, and get on with the future."
Joyce Meyer
The love of God in Christ is more than a piece of systematic theology, and it is meant to come alive in those who declare it. We can preach with tongues of fire when we have His fire in our bellies. How do you get those fires burning? Get to know the Word of God for yourself. It is God's Word to you.
A favourite subtle weapon the devil deploys is to redirect our priorites. Satan doesn't mind how hard we work for our churches, as long as our work keeps us from wrecking havoc on his evil kingdom by spreading the gospel.
People suffer for chiefly one reason: They have chosen to ignore God's rule book, the Bible, and everything has gone terribly wrong as a result. Our loving Creator knows exactly how we have been made and what will harm us. His commandments are not dictatorial edicts designed to spoil fun rather they are the Manufacturer's handling instructions. God knows that our psyches cannot handle sin and that we are actually crushed and tormented by our own misdeeds. People take care not to break a new washing machine or tape recorder, but strangely, many don't seem to mind destroying their own spirits and souls with the poison of sin.
Do you begin to see more clearly the desperate need for the gospel and why God's heart cry that we hear the truth is so insistent, so urgent?
God has promised to bless and support His own divine plans. There is no blessing upon our own plans.
Reinhard Bonnke
